What is a disc spring? And why you should use disc springs
Can be made according to individual needs
Disc springs provide high spring forces while requiring only a small installation space. One of their advantages is the increase in spring forces and deflections thanks to the different layering of the individual springs in spring stacks. The fact that the load/deflection curve can be influenced in many areas by continuously adjusting the component geometry is also a big plus.

Advantages of disc springs
The advantage of using disc springs is maximum space utilization and high spring force with little deflection. In contrast to coil springs, disc springs have a large load capacity combined with a very little deflection, which means that the height can be limited in relation to the force that must be absorbed.

Where are disc springs used?
Disc springs are used in everything from valves to wind turbines, or in short everywhere where there is a need for strong spring forces and a minimum of spring deflection. Disc springs can be used as individual springs or in stacks. Brd. Klee supplies 380 different variants from thicknesses of 0.20 to 16.00 mm and with an outer diameter between 8.0 and 250.0 mm.

Which materials are disc springs made from?
Disc springs are made of spring steel and are supplied oiled as standard. They can also be supplied in other materials like stainless steel and Inconel® (nickel alloy with chromium, iron and minor additions of other metals).

Help for dimensioning of disc springs
We are happy to help with calculation and dimensioning. You can also calculate your needs yourself via Mubea's calculation program. It is free to use and facilitates the work when choosing the spring type. Contact us if you would like to receive the program.
