General info about Th. Regout slides

Dutch manufacturer Thomas Regout (Th. Regout) was founded in 1834 and produced nails and rivets at the time. Since then, the production evolved into production of curtain rails amongst others. In the 1950s, the first telescopic slides were produced. Today, the company offers a multitude of slides types of the the highest quality. Brd. Klee supplies the full range in Denmark.

What is a telescopic slide and how does it work?
We typically know slides from furniture and cupboards, but telescopic slides are also used extensively in industry. A system of slides that via a sliding movement ensures a drawer to open and close without sliding out of the system and 'over the edge'.

This is what you need to know when choosing a telescopic slide
Bearing capacity and load (dynamic/static) – height – extension – material.

Carrying/load capacity
The carrying/load capacity varies due to a number of factors. The most important factors are type, length and travel. Another important factor is the number of cycles that the slide must work. A distinction is made between dynamic load and static load.

Other factors that affect load capacity are the features the rail is equipped with and how it is mounted. Slides are normally mounted laterally. All product data regarding load capacity refer to side-mounted use.

Dynamic load capacity
To determine the dynamic load capacity all Thomas Regout slides are tested with 100,000 cycles. The maximum load capacity of the rails complies with or exceeds international standards such as DIN, BIFMA, BS, EN and JIS. The dynamic load figures can be found in the data sheets for the specific slide type.

Static load capacity
Static load capacity is based on test results at 500, 1000 and 10,000 cycles. The static load capacity is significantly higher than the dynamic load capacity for all types. The static load figures can be found in the data sheets for the specific slide types.

Extension
Extension is defined as the ratio between the travel length of the slide (T) and the length of the slide in the closed position (L): (T/L)*100%. Th. Regout slides are available with two or three joints.

Where are telescopic slides used in the industry?
Telescopic slides are used e.g. the following places:

Vending machines
Special vehicles
Tool cabinets

Machine building
The automotive industry

What types of slides are there?
We generally offer three categories of telescopic slides.

1. Standard telescopic slides

Standard slides in steel, stainless steel or aluminium. Available with single, full and two-way full extension. Length 300 – 1500 mm. Load: 21 – 300 kg/pair. We also offer rollover protection.

2. FlexFit slides

The FlexFit guide is a combination of a profile and a carrier that enables multiple linear motion options. The linear guides are uniquely designed for an easy and fast installation. These ready to use products are made of high quality components to guarantee a long service life. The FlexFit linear guides are typically used in vending and self- checkout machines, special vehicles and tooling cabinets.

3. Heavy duty slides

Supreme heavy-duty telescopic slide with load capacity of up to 2000 kg (two tons!). High precision and easy movement under heavy load. Very robust and compact design. For mechanical engineering and the automotive industry. Also two-way slide/bilex. Extension from 50% all the way up to 200%.
