E+G GN 51.6 forms a system together with the steel part, which shields and reinforces the magnet and optimally concentrates the magnetic flux on the rubber-coated magnet surface. The rubber protects sensitive surfaces from being damaged by the magnet and at the same time provides a high coefficient of friction, resulting in high lateral shear forces.
